Secret Cellar Wine Club was born from a very successful in-person wine club established at “A Hidden Vine on the Lake”, a popular boutique wine and cheese shop right on the shores of beautiful Lake Mission Viejo in Orange County, California.  Through our grassroots approach, A Hidden Vine on the Lake has grown to become “the go-to place for high-quality wine in Southern California.”  With discerning customers searching for a best-in-class wine club where they could stock their cellars with truly exceptional wines at reasonable prices, A Hidden Vine started offering an exclusive quarterly wine club to select customers only when asked.  As word spread about the limited-production boutique wine selections in this exclusive club, A Hidden Vine opened the club to more customers and formally put the Silver Club and Gold Club program together.  This really was a story of a wine shop meeting the needs and requests of its clientele.

With word spreading and more high-end clientele visiting the shop regularly, the Royal Club was established in 2016 out of requests to fill high-end cellars with extremely allocated, exceptional quality wine that many wine connoisseurs can only dream of.  We make those dreams a reality with the Secret Cellar Wine Club from A Hidden Vine on the Lake.

Meet the Team Behind Secret Cellar

College buddies in the 1990’s in Southern California, Mike Davis and Marty Cruz pursued very different careers in different places, Mike in the IT Industry in the San Francisco Bay Area and Marty in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Orange County, CA.  Throughout their careers, both Mike and Marty had a growing passion for wine and bringing friends together for intimate wine tastings.  Mike belonged to a dozen wine clubs, provided in-home wine tasting events for fun and frequently visited the close-by Napa Valley.  Marty pursued his passion by visiting numerous wineries up and down CA and studying wine, ultimately obtaining a Sommelier Certification from the Guild of Master Sommeliers.  After an amazing opportunity presented itself in 2012 to buy an established wine and cheese shop on beautiful Lake Mission Viejo, Mike and Marty were united in their passion for sharing high-quality wines in this local Southern California enclave.
